Episode 12 – Francine Lecoultre  ”MEET THE HOLLYWOOD COSTUME DESIGNERS” docu-series
Francine Lecoultre is behind the precious textiles of costumes-art works such as those visionary of The Cell, or the blaze of gold and colors of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor‘s costumes. We are talking about Francine Lecoultre, multimedia textile artist who works miracles.

 

 

Episode 11 – Sanja Hays ”MEET THE HOLLYWOOD COSTUME DESIGNERS” docu-series
Sanja Hays, is well known to the general public for her work on blockbuster movies including Captain Marvel,  Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and Maze Runner: The Death Cure, Total Recall, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (for which she received a nomination from the Costume Designers Guild Awards for Excellence in Fantasy Film in 2009), The Fast And The Furious franchise and two chapters of the Star Trek saga – Star Trek Insurrection and Star Trek Beyond.

 

 

Episode 10 – Marilyn Vance “MEET THE HOLLYWOOD COSTUME DESIGNERS”  docu-series
Marilyn Vance,  in 1988 she was nominated for both an Oscar and a BAFTA Film Award for her work on The Untouchables. In 1990 she received a BAFTA nomination for her costumer work on Pretty Woman. In 2012 her costumes for Die Hard, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller, The Untouchables and Pretty Woman – considered iconic and chosen to represent Pop Culture – were displayed at the Victoria and Albert Museum exhibition “Characters through Costume in Film from 1912 to 2012”.

 

 

Episode 9 – Carlo Poggioli “MEET THE HOLLYWOOD COSTUME DESIGNERS” docu-series
Carlo Poggioli, is the President of Italian Association for Costume Designers, Production Designers and Set Decorators A.S.C. and has designed costumes for “The Mists of Avalon” directed by Uli Edel (TV Mini Series – EMMY AWARDS nomination for best costume), “Cold Mountain” co-designed with A. Roth, directed by Anthony Minghella (BAFTA nomination for best costume), “Van Helsing” directed by Steven Sommers (SATURN AWARD nomination) and “The Brothers Grimm” co-designed with G. Pescucci and directed by Terry Gilliam.

 

 

Episode 8 – Deborah Landis (part B) “MEET THE HOLLYWOOD COSTUME DESIGNERS” docu-series
Deborah Landis, worked on such notable films as  The Blues Brothers, Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark, Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Animal House.  Landis served two terms as president of the Costume Designers Guild in Los Angeles of which she has been a member for more than thirty years. In addition to many Drama-Logue Awards for her theater designs, she was nominated for an Academy Award in 1988 for Coming to America.

 

 

Episode 7 – Anthea Sylbert “MEET THE HOLLYWOOD COSTUME DESIGNERS” docu-series
Anthea Sylbert, is a piece of Hollywood history: she worked with the biggest directors – Roman Polanski & Mike Nichols -, and with the biggest actors – Jack Nicholson, Mia Farrow, Faye Dunaway, Dustin Hoffman & Warren Beatty. Polanski hired her for 1968’s “Rosemary’s Baby,” the first Hollywood film for both of them. Nichols, who collaborated with Sylbert on “Carnal Knowledge” (1971), “Day of the Dolphin” (1973) and “The Fortune” (1975), says her work in costumes “is brilliantly alive, witty, recognizable and has a very strong sense of character and story. At the peak of her career as a costume designer and after getting 2 Oscar Nominations, for Chinatown and Julia, she decides to make a change in her career. And what a change! She becomes an Executive Producer. And gets an Emmy Award!!!

Episode 5 – Lou Eyrich “MEET THE HOLLYWOOD COSTUME DESIGNERS” docu-series
Lou Eyrich, is a five-time Emmy-award winning costume designer and best known for her work in the television series “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story”, Glee and American Horror Story: Asylum. In 2012 she was awarded a Career Achievement Award in Television from the Costume Designers Guild. In 2010 and 2011 she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in the Outstanding Costumes for a Series category for her work on Glee, work that was also given awards in 2010, 2011 and 2012 by the Costume Designers Guild.

 

 

Episode 4 – Jo Katsaras “MEET THE HOLLYWOOD COSTUME DESIGNERS” docu-series
Jo Katsaras, created the costumes for many tv shows, movies, commercial and music videos. Her credits include “Country of My Skull” (2004), starring Samuel L. Jackson and Juliette Binoche; “Racing Stripes” (2005) with Snoop Dogg e Hayden Panettiere; “The Borrowers” (2011) with Stephen Fry; “Mary & Martha” (2013) with Hilary Swank and Sam Claflin; “Half a Yellow Sun” (2013) starring Chiwetel Eijifor and Thandie Newton. In 2007 Jo Katsaras worked with the Oscar winner director Anthony Minghella on the HBO and BBC tv series “The N. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency” & she was nominated for an Emmy. At present, she’s on the set of AMC’s “Fear The Walking Dead”.

 

Episode 3 – Marie Schley “MEET THE HOLLYWOOD COSTUME DESIGNERS” docu-series
Marie Schley, teamed up with Jill Soloway, designing the costumes for AFTERNOON DELIGHT, which won best director at Sundance 2013. Next, they collaborated on Season 1 and 2 of TRANSPARENT on Amazon Prime, earning Marie the 2015 Emmy for Best Contemporary Costume Design. Recently, she worked with Larry Charles for THE COMEDIANS on FX.

 

Episode 2 – Chrisi Karvonides “MEET THE HOLLYWOOD COSTUME DESIGNERS” docu-series
Chrisi Karvonides,  in 2003 she received an Emmy for her costume design work on NBC’s American Dreams. She was also Emmy-nominated for FX’s American Horror Story, and HBO’s Carnivàle and From the Earth to the Moon (produced by Tom Hanks). She was nominated for four Costume Designers Guild Awards during five seasons of HBO’s Big Love. In addition, CarnivàleFrom the Earth to the Moon and the pilot for ABC’s Pan Am were also nominated for CDG awards. Her other TV credits include Alan Ball’s HBO series Here and Now, starring Tim Robbins and Holly Hunter; and the Starz TV series Blunt Talk, starring Patrick Stewart. Karvonides feature films include The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond (2008), The Glass House (2001) and Beautiful (2000).

 

Episode 1 – Salvador Perez “MEET THE HOLLYWOOD COSTUME DESIGNERS” docu-series
Salvador Perez, is President of the Costume Designers Guild in Los Angeles, as well as the acclaimed costume designer of many TV series including CASTLE, MOONLIGHT, VERONICA MARS and 6 Seasons of THE MINDY PROJECT where he was nominated for an Emmy for costume design. Salvador has also worked on movies such as PITCH PERFECT 1, 2 and 3, THINK LIKE A MAN 1 and 2, MEN OF HONOR and DRUMLINE.
