THE DARK CANDY’S LIVE TALK WITH DENISE WINGATE, THE COSTUME DESIGNER OF ”MELROSE PLACE”, THE MOST STYLISH TV SHOW OF THE ’90S

EN – #FashionMeetsCinema, WHERE COSTUME DESIGNERS AND FASHION INDUSTRY START A DIALOGUE… A REAL DIALOGUE.

Fashion has a significant importance for costume designers, as costume designers have a significant importance for fashion. Because fashion needs to find new business opportunities and wardrobe departments need more and more new resources.

But the dialogue between the two industries – fashion and movie – is not always easy.

This is how the idea of #FashionMeetsCinema was born: this The Dark Candy’s new online project aims to bring together Hollywood Costume Designers with the fashion industry to exchange ideas, make known to fashion the importance of costume design and find new ways to collaborate.

We do this through a series of online Live Talks where we host big Hollywood Costume Designers and a select number of brands, fashion designers, press and fashion insiders, that will have the opportunity to ask questions to the guest.

We kicked off #FashionMeetsCinema live talks with Denise Wingate, costume designer who works in movies and tv series.

She designed the costumes for movies like Cruel intentions starring Reese Witherspoon, Wedding Chashers featuring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, Live free or Die Hard starring Bruce Willis and for the highly stylish 90es tv series Melrose Place.

Her latest work, Unhinged with Russel Crowe, is set to hit the theaters next month.

The live talk was attended by: Guia Rossi, journalist of Cosmopolitan Italy, Chiara Apperti, co-founder of online magazine Modalità Demodè and fashion designer of shoes brand LAC, Nefeli Bompoki, marketing & communication manager of Bsamply (b2b textiles sales platform) from Milan; Shanti Rigamonti, third-generation owner of TSLambrugo (dyery and printworks), from Como; Valentina De Pietri, fashion designer of the brand Accidentall, fashion consulting and third-generation owner of manufacturing company De Pietri, from Paris; Martine Melloul, film producer and founder of Kali Pictures, former Executive Vice President of the brand BCBG MAX AZRIA, from Los Angeles.

IT – #FashionMeetsCinema, DOVE I COSTUME DESIGNER E LA MODA DIALOGANO…
